On Wednesday May 16, 2018, at approximately 11:30 pm, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a welfare concern at a residence, in the 12500 block of Royal Lake Drive, Conroe, Texas.

While in route to the residence, Deputies were advised that the reportee had received a call from the 68 year old victim advising her son, Wade Wyatt (W/M) DOB 09-20-90 was holding her against her will. The victim told the reportee that her son had a gun in his mouth and was threatening to kill himself and her. The victim also told the reportee that, her son was high on drugs and had beat her with the gun and that she was hurt. The reportee also made numerous threats toward law enforcement if they were contacted.

Deputies set up a perimeter around the location and attempted to establish communication with the suspect, but received no response. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office mobilized their SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) and Crisis Negotiations Team (CNT) to respond to the scene. While deputies were positioning themselves around the residence to make contact with the suspect, they could hear the victim in distress and the suspect refusing to let her leave.

At that time members of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office SWAT announced their presence and attempted to enter the residence. Upon doing so they were immediately confronted by the suspect and the victim. Deputies attempted to extract the victim while attempting to gain compliance of the suspect. The suspect refused to follow the Deputies commands to comply and at that time pointed a firearm at the Deputies. Due to the suspect’s actions, and fearing for the life of the victim and law enforcement, one of the deputies discharged their drawn weapon at the suspect, striking him. The suspect then dropped the firearm at which time Deputies began to administer life saving measures to the suspect. Emergency Medical Services were already on location and immediately began medical treatment. The suspect was transported to Conroe Regional Hospital and his condition is currently unknown.

The victim, was treated for numerous injuries on scene that were caused by the suspect.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office as well as the Texas Rangers are investigating.
