MCTXSheriff Arrest Habitual Thief for Felony Theft

On September 11, 2018, at about 9:10 am, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to HTX Services located at 20185 FM 1314, Porter, TX in reference to a theft of copper wire and tools. Deputies arrived and learned that about 8600 foot of heavy gauge wire had been stolen along with numerous tools.

During the follow up investigation, Deputies checked nearby surveillance video and observed a person in a silver SUV pulling a small trailer with a large spool of copper wire. During a search of the area, Deputies located a vehicle matching the description seen on the surveillance video at a residence in the 16400 block of Porter Ln, Porter, TX. Upon approach of the vehicle, Deputies found Roger Dale Parker Jr. asleep in the driver seat of the vehicle and observed copper wire laying in front of and under the silver SUV. Deputies also observed a fire pit smoldering in the yard which had copper wire laying in it to burn off the plastic sheeting.

Deputies also located stolen tools in the yard, vehicle and residence. Roger Dale Parker has a long criminal history of theft and burglary and was arrested for the felony possession of stolen property. All of the stolen property that had not already been destroyed was returned to the rightful owner.

Great job Deputies, recovering this property and putting this habitual thief in jail.
