MCTXSheriff Investigates Laptop Theft from Wal-Mart

On October 6, 2018, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to Wal-Mart located at 20310 US Highway 59, New Caney, TX in reference to a theft. Deputies were advised that a white male suspect entered Wal-Mart and selected two laptops for purchase. The suspect approached the electronics counter where he gave the cashier 19-$100 dollar bills for the purchase of the laptops. The total cost of the laptops was $1,944.00. The cashier counted the money and noticed the suspect was short $44.00 for the purchase. The suspect demanded to count the money himself, at which time the cashier handed the money back to the suspect. The suspect folded 10 of the $100 bills in his left palm and placed it in his pocket without the cashier seeing. The suspect then handed the cashier the original $900.00 along with another $45.00 which the cashier believed to be $1,945. The suspect then exited the store with the laptops.
