MCTXSheriff Search for Missing Elderly Found Safe and Well

On August 29, 2019, at about 1:37 PM the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting an 81-year-old elderly female missing from her residence in the 15700 block of Hickory Drive, Montgomery, TX in the Hidden Forest Subdivision which is in the National Forest. Upon arrival, Deputies learned that 81-year-old Rose Ann Loe was last seen walking west on Evergreen Lane near Walnut Drive in Montgomery, Texas. Mrs. Loe left her residence after getting into a dispute with her family. Rose was last seen wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans, possibly carrying a tan purse.

Numerous agencies partnered with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in the search for Mrs. Loe including: DPS Air Unit, Precinct 1 Constable’s Office, Texas Parks and Wildlife, Texas Forestry Service, New Waverly Fire Department, Montgomery Fire Department, Montgomery County Hospital District, Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office, Texas Department of Criminal Justice and Montgomery County Search and Rescue provided 35 civilian volunteer searchers during this incident. At 7:03 PM a concerned citizen arrived on scene with Mrs. Loe and advised she had invited Mrs. Loe inside her home in the cool since 1:30 PM due to the extreme heat. Mrs. Loe was checked out by MCHD and had no health concerns due to this incident.

MCTXSheriff and all parties to this search are incredibly grateful for the outcome of this incident and happy that Mrs. Loe was found safe and not exposed to the extreme heat. We want to thank the men and women who participated in today’s search in the dense forest and heat.
